BREAKING NEWS; December 28, 2007, ESPN teams up with AMA Supermoto The 2008 series is on track and there are a lot of really exciting elements to the new series. Although details have yet to be signed and finalized, we have been told by Gavin Trippe, Sr. (yes, the Gavin that created the ABC Superbikers events, which eventually lead to the creation of supermoto) has met up with the people at ESPN to allow the AMA Pro series to run events on the same week as the Moto X World Championships as well as at the X Games. They will be separate from the ESPN event and it will only help create more exposure for the sport. The opening round would kick off in April in San Diego at the ESPN Moto X World Championships at Qualcomm Stadium.
